Greetings my friends. It is Sunday October 27TH 2024, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.
I’ve proclaimed that greeting weekly for the past 4 years here on #SundayScripture. A portion of it is from the 118TH Psalm and the 24TH Verse. It’s the same greeting that I’ve opened nearly every church service with for the past 8 years at my former home church. (In a typical service we began with a cold open for Praise + Worship – the first of 4 songs. After that first song – I formally opened the service and welcomed God’s church family into His sanctuary.)
Psalm 118:24 sets the tone for the church service and for the day. God created this day for you to continue your fantastic journey serving His purpose for you here in this temporary world – or – to begin a brand-new journey of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. As long as you’re still living and breathing here in this world – it is not too late to proclaim that Jesus Christ is your Lord + Savior, and that you love Him more than anyone – and more than anything. You are not guaranteed tomorrow, so live this day that our LORD has made. Rejoice !
“This is the day” points to the day of God’s greatest act – that glorious Sunday morning when He conquered death and rose again. The rejected stone became the chief cornerstone. That’s why we rejoice and proclaim each new day as a precious gift from God. Receive it. Go and tell the world what He has done for you. Let us build and expand His Kingdom together.
My testimony is featured each week here on #SundayScripture – whether it’s part of a sermon, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord, and get closer to Him with each new day.
If you wish to learn more about the God I know then stay tuned to #SundayScripture. The best is yet to come !
Thank you for reading my blog for this day, and may:
The LORD bless you, and keep you. The LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you. The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.
In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. AMEN.

Every Monday I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from the previous week. It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back over 45 years. Here’s this week’s chart – for the week ending Sunday October 20TH 2024 – the 401ST week of this current era that began on Presidents’ Day Weekend of 2017:
PLACE IN THIS WORLD – Michael W. Smith is back with a hit that was huge here on my chart 33 years ago during the Summer Of 1991 – back when I was 24, and I didn’t know God. But it was a mainstream pop smash. It was my # 13 hit of the summer overall. Amy Grant cowrote it with Michael as well as Wayne Kirkpatrick. for King + Country take the lead on the new version of the song that was part of their “Unsung Hero” movie from earlier this year, and Michael W. Smith lends his voice to the redux. It’s straight-in to my chart this week into the Top 5. Could this be a future # 1 smash ?
SPOTIFY – You can hear “My Top 10 Hits” anytime by accessing my CountUp playlist on Spotify. All 10 hits are there from top to bottom. You can hear them in order from # 1 to # 10, or you can shuffle them. My playlist will be updated every weekend (usually before the actual chart is presented here on Mondays). You can link to it here.
Your likes, follows, and comments are always appreciated. Thank You for being part of my online ministry to share God’s Good News and win souls for Christ through His music. God used loud music on the radio to reach me in August of 2006. I’ve been testifying about Him ever since.
Be blessed my friends ! May our God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday October 20TH 2024, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.
It’s been an interesting past 2 weeks for me – starting with the build-up and widespread panic-buying and mass hysteria leading-up to Hurricane Milton. It made landfall early in the evening of Wednesday October 09TH 2024. I live between Sebring and Avon Park in northwestern Highlands County Florida. After making landfall as a Category-3 on Siesta Key near Sarasota (about 80 miles away) – it crossed the state in a general ENE direction. It passed about 30 miles to the northwest of here in southwestern Polk County (very near Fort Meade and Homeland – which I wrote about on a recent #TravelThursday).
Here in my neighborhood – we received maximum sustained winds of Tropical Storm force (45-60 MPH) with a few wind gusts approaching but probably not quite reaching Category-1 Hurricane force. We only received about 2 inches of rain here. We had scattered leaves, twigs, and small branches on our main ring road. Little to no structural damage was noted. Our neighborhood was built tough almost 40 years ago during the mid-1980s, and it has endured much worse than Hurricane Milton (such as a freak April 04TH 2022 hailstorm).
Many other parts of Florida in all different directions did not fare as well – with dozens of tornadoes, ferocious winds, and torrential rains (up to 20 inches in many locations along the Gulf Coast). A lot of Floridians lost everything from Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Thank God for the good work of Samaritan’s Purse.
The biggest issue here in the local area were power outages. Highlands County was about 97% in the dark after the storm had passed. A portion of my neighborhood had its power restored on Friday morning. A majority of my neighborhood was out until Saturday afternoon. My power was restored after 63 hours and 34 minutes in the dark. That has inspired a sermon that I’m praying about and will soon be writing titled “63 & 34”. It was a very unique and quite peaceful “63 & 34” as I used God’s daylight to guide and direct me. I grew spiritually during that time – more so than any other time recently. I’ll share how so in my upcoming sermon. I really need to experience more “63 & 34” time – without the assistance of a power outage. I’m going to work towards that.
Psalm 107:29-31 (NLT): He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves. What a blessing was that stillness as he brought them safely into harbor ! Let them praise the LORD for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them.
My testimony is featured each week here on #SundayScripture – whether it’s part of a sermon, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord, and get closer to Him with each new day.

Every Monday I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from the previous week. It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back over 45 years. But this week it’s a special chart to celebrate the past 400 weeks. It’s my #Top40Of400 !
400 WEEKS – We made it. From February 2017 to October 2024 – 7 years and 8 months – and still going strong. It’s been a fun 400 weeks. It’s also been a comforting 400 weeks during these troubled times in our nation and around the world. The resurrection of my music chart (and subsequently this blog) after a 7-year hiatus from 2010 to 2017 was due to the discovery of K-LOVE – the nationwide Christian Adult Contemporary music radio station. K-LOVE has been a blessing in my life, as it has been the soundtrack of the renaissance of my fantastic journey in Christ. Also presenting great music here in my new home in the Heartland of Florida – The Joy FM. I’m looking forward to the next 400 weeks, for the best is yet to come !
CALEB & JOHN – Their Romans 15:13-inspired debut song – “Hallelujah Feeling” – was a # 1 smash and a long-running hit of 27 weeks from August 2023 to February 2024. It spent 3 weeks at # 1, an extraordinary 13 weeks at # 2, and 5 weeks at # 3. That’s 21 weeks (5 months) in my Top 3. In its 25TH week on my chart – it surpassed “Nobody (But Jesus)” as my new # 1 smash overall of the current era. And then – a couple of months later – they followed it up with another huge # 1 smash – “Somebody Like Me” (featuring Cain). It’s still on my weekly chart, and it currently holds the # 7 spot overall (and climbing).
PATRICK MAYBERRY – His “Lead On Good Shepherd” is the longest-running hit during this 400-week era. From December 2023 to July 2024 it spent 33 weeks on my chart – including 2 weeks at # 1, 12 weeks at # 2, and 2 weeks at # 3. It pushed “Nobody (But Jesus)” down another notch to # 3, as it took over the # 2 spot.
MATTHEW WEST – He’s a featured artist on “Nobody (But Jesus)” with Casting Crowns, and he’s also at # 30, # 31, # 32, and # 38. Like most of the artists on my Top 40 – I’d never heard of him before 2017, but now he’s my # 1 artist overall. He’s hit my weekly chart with 9 songs totaling 169 weeks. 6 of them have gone to # 1 for a combined total of 23 weeks. (2 peaked at # 2.)
MERCYME – They are my # 2 artist overall with more weeks at # 1 (27) than any other artist. I was supposed to see MercyMe LIVE in concert last Thursday night in Southwest Florida – along with Crowder and Cochren & Co., but it was postponed due to Hurricane Milton. I’ll see MercyMe in early-April 2025, and it appears that Cochren & Co. will join them, but probably not Crowder. Nevertheless – there will be a lot of great music and big hits at that show.
NUMBERS 400 – 371 songs have appeared on my weekly chart over the past 400 weeks. That of course is a little less than one new entry per week. 103 of the 371 (27.8%) have gone to # 1, and 36 of the 103 are on my Top 40 overall. The rankings are based on a point-based system where each week at # 1 is worth 10 points, # 2 is worth 9 points, and so forth and so on down to # 10 being worth 1 point. Tie-breaking procedures were implemented 7 times when 2 or more songs tied in points – starting with the highest peak position, (and if still tied) the most weeks at # 1, (and if still tied) the most weeks at # 2. My Top 40 chart ranges from a high of 220 points for my # 1 smash – down to a low of 139 points for my # 39 and # 40 hits.
PRAISE TO OUR GOD – What a great chart that praises and worships our God and gives Him all of the glory. Each song on here makes me smile – and sing along. Some have a beat that make me want to dance for Jesus. If you’re not familiar with one or any of these songs then use Google, Bing, Amazon, Apple, Spotify, or YouTube to check them out. Enjoy the music, but especially listen to the words. The words of these songs represent God’s Word. Any one of these songs can change a life forever.
He has given me a new song to sing – a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what He has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the LORD.(Psalm 40:3 NLT)
SPOTIFY – You can hear “My Top 40 Hits – 400 Weeks” anytime by accessing my CountUp playlist on Spotify. All 40 hits are there from top to bottom. You can hear them in order from # 1 to # 40, or you can shuffle them. You can link to it here.
