Winter Season Premiere

Greetings my friends ! This post serves as my U.S. Winter Season Premiere. There was not the usual break this year between my Autumn season of blog posts and my Winter season. The fact of the matter is that November was (by far) my biggest month ever as far as readership, so I wanted to keep the forward momentum going during Thanksgiving Week here in the U.S. when I would normally be on hiatus.

So my blogging continues this Winter with no expected breaks in action. You can expect new blog posts published on Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays, and Mondays at 3 AM U.S. East Coast Time, so that’s 8 AM in Great Britain, 10 AM in South Africa, 1:30 PM in India, 4 PM in Singapore, and 9 PM in New Zealand. Thank You for following my blog from all around the world !

As a general guideline each new weekend of blog posts begins on a Thursday, and my Thursday posts can be about anything and everything. My Friday posts are about pop music history from my own vast archives going back 35 years. My Sunday and Monday posts are Christ-centered with a short message on Sunday, and my favorite positive and encouraging songs of the week on Monday.

This blog was created on Myspace back in May of 2007. 6 months later I moved it here to WordPress. This post begins my 14TH year here on WordPress. You can still read every single blog post that has ever been published by me here on WordPress (1,861 and counting), but don’t look for any from 2013 to 2017. (My blog was published solely on Facebook during that time.)

To my fellow bloggers who also read my blog – keep doing what you do. I enjoy reading many of your blogs, and I’m glad that you’re staying active as a blogger during these times when blogging is so passé / “old school”. I guess we’re about 15 years past its prime, but I’d rather do this than waste countless hours of brain energy reading all about other people’s narrow viewpoints and prejudices on Facebook and Twitter. Hatred and negativity thrives over there.

Well that’s all for this Thursday blog post about anything and everything. It’s my first of 18 posts in December. It’s going to be a fun month on here, as we wrap-up 2020 and prepare for 2021. Let’s do this together.

Social Media Round-Up

FACEBOOK – I’ve been on Facebook since Easter Sunday March 31ST 2013. I was active on it until New Year’s Eve Sunday December 31ST 2017. This blog appeared on there during much of that time. At the start of 2018 I brought my blog back to its previous home – right here on WordPress. I’m still on Facebook, but I no longer post original material. I’m only on there because most of my social media friends are on there. I like / love some of their posts, and I comment occasionally. Most of the time I just read and move on – including all of the political posts. I keep my political viewpoints to myself. I wish others did as well. Facebook was a lot more fun before it became saturated with politics – much of it filled with innuendos, exaggerations, fabrications, rage, and hatred – from both sides.

TWITTER – In a few days I’ll observe my 11TH Anniversary on Twitter. I’ve tweeted over 8,400 times over these past 11 years – much less nowadays than I used to. I mostly utilize my Twitter account to announce new blog posts here on WordPress, and that’s an automatic process. Every so often I’ll tweet lyrics from a current song I like. Sometimes I’ll tweet a random thought. My last 5 tweets can be viewed right here on my blog (right-hand column below the calendar – if you’re on the web site).

FLICKR – My longtime photo storage site (since 2011) is Flickr. I’ve got over 3,200 photos on the site, and 88½% of them are public for the whole world to see. They are mostly vacation photos from over the years – from as far west as the Hawaiian islands, as far south as Fanning Island Kiribati, as far east as Saint-Martin / Sint Maarten, and as far north as Niagara Falls. I’m currently adding photos from my recent Orange Beach Alabama vacation. My last 5 photos can be viewed right here on my blog (right-hand column below my tweets – if you’re on the web site).

WORDPRESS – And here we are – the social media site that I’ve been on for the longest time – since the end of 2007. (I know I abandoned it for over 7 years while I was tweeting and Facebooking.) This is my 1,801ST blog post here on WordPress – and 480TH since I returned at the start of 2018. I have a lot of new readers on here, and I welcome each and every one of you to my blog. I blog 4 times per week – Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays, and Mondays. My blog posts go live at 3 AM U.S. East Coast time on most of those days, so that’s 12 AM on the U.S. West Coast, 8 AM in the United Kingdom, 9 AM in South Africa, 12 PM in India, 5 PM on Australia’s East Coast, and 7 PM in New Zealand. (I’ve got followers in all of those great places around the globe.)

The best place to check-out my blog is at my home page at revchrismday.com. It’s also where you can link to my Twitter and Flickr. If you think that you have a similar blog that I may be interested in then comment on any of my recent blog posts. No spam please. WordPress will automatically capture it, and if it slips through then I’ll delete it. If you already follow my blog then there’s a good chance that I’m probably already checking-out your blog occasionally. Keep up the great writing !

Weekends Begin On Thursdays

Greetings my friends. It’s Thursday March 12TH 2020, and it’s the start of a fresh new weekend of blogging here at #CountUp.

This blog is currently experiencing great growth worldwide, so it’s time again to explain what I do here and when I do it. I blog on Thursday and Friday mornings, Sunday afternoons, and Monday mornings. My blog posts go LIVE at 3 AM U.S. East Coast Time on Thursdays, Fridays, and Mondays, and by 3 PM on Sundays – following my time spent with church family. I don’t blog on Saturdays at all. That’s my day of rest with Christ and His Word. I generally do Bible Study and Sermon Writing on Saturdays. I occasionally blog on select Tuesdays during the year – generally when Monday is a U.S. Federal holiday.

My Thursday blogs can be about anything that comes to my mind at the time. They are my most spontaneous blog posts of the weekend. My Friday blogs go RETRO, as I look back at my life and the music that shaped it. My Sunday blogs reveal the God I know – the 3-in-1 God – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. My Monday blogs highlight God’s music on the radio – my Top 10 hits of the week. It’s the continuation of a weekly music chart hobby that goes back 45 years.

This blog is currently nearing the end of its 13TH year online. It started on Myspace in May 2007, and then it moved over to WordPress (right here) in November 2007. It began fading away during the early 2010s, and that’s because I was tweeting on Twitter way too much before most of my friends even knew what a tweet was. All of my friends kept urging me to join them over on Facebook, and I finally (and hesitantly) did so on Easter Sunday of 2013. My blog was eventually resurrected on Facebook, but not too many of my friends were actually reading it. I ended my blog on Facebook on the final day of 2017, and just a couple of weeks later I brought it back here to its original home.

This is a political-free blog. I’ll never discuss politics on here. I don’t discuss anything that may be controversial on here. (I’m the same way in public.) This blog is essentially about my life of almost 53 years – then and now – 39 years before Christ and 14 years in Christ. I know that it’s not for everyone, but if you like what you see then I thank you for coming, and reading, and liking, and coming back again. As long as you keep coming back – I’ll keep blogging more.

I try to keep my blog posts short. Most of them can be read in 3 minutes or less. Your time online and offline is valuable. I thank you for spending a few minutes with me.

Take A Picture

(Good song by Filter from early-2000.)

Well Happy Thursday February 27TH 2020 my friends. It’s the final Thursday of February, and it’s the start of another blogging weekend for me. But this weekend will be curtailed. In lieu of the usual 4 new blog posts I’m only publishing 2 – this one right here -and tomorrow’s RETRO. After that I’m going on hiatus for a little over a week to hang out with church pastors, preachers, planters, ministers, leaders, and disciples up the road in Orlando. I’ll also be singing and dancing in the middle of the Hertz Arena in Estero Florida with MercyMe and Jeremy Camp performing their greatest hits. That’s how I “Spring Break” at nearly 53 !

So here’s where that Title above (“Take A Picture”) is significant. Last weekend (Friday in fact) I posted original material on Facebook for the first time in 13 months. It was actually quite benign (or so I thought). I swapped out my profile picture. That’s it. I replaced a picture from 2018 with a picture from 2012. It’s a picture of me up on stage with my former church family with a wireless mic hosting a Sunday morning service. I didn’t think anything of it really when I posted it. Some friends recently asked me to change the picture, so I did. In the next few days it garnered 35 likes and loves and 15 comments. It’s one of my most reacted-to Facebook posts ever (since I created my account in 2013).

Incidentally – other than the occasional profile picture and cover photo swap – I don’t post much on Facebook anymore. I still have friends (lots of them) who are only on Facebook, so I keep in touch with them on there and sometimes post a comment on something that they have posted. But this is where I really live on social media – right here on my own blog.

And so – here’s that profile picture that went viral on my Facebook account for a few days. Enjoy, and I’ll be back tomorrow for my Winter Season Finale.
