This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again next weekend – 4 new entries on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest.

Your likes, follows, and comments are always appreciated. Thank You for being part of my online ministry to share God’s Good News and win souls for Christ through His music. Enjoy this week my friends. I’m on Twitter @ChrisMDay, and I’m also the man behind the tweets for my church @LivingWatersHFL. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him. My Top 5 Hits RETRO – 2009

Every Friday night I post the Top 5 of one of my classic hit music charts based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from either 10, 20, or 30 years ago (rotating each week). Here it is – for the week ending Sunday April 05TH 2009:

  1. “The Difference” – Philmont
  2. “Back To The Five” – Ruth
  3. “Control” – Clemency
  4. “The Unavoidable Battle Of Feeling On The Outside” – FM Static
  5. “Set The Dial” – Run Kid Run

What a wonderful music chart that was exactly 10 years ago this weekend.

Ruth was one of my favorite bands back during the 3½-year “salvation era” of my hit music chart. They hit with “Cross The Line” (2007), “Who I Was And Who I Am” (2008), “Back To The Five” (2009), and “Rolling With The Punches” (2009).

♫ But I know I’m not out here alone
Yeah I gave it all up for You
Just to do the things You want me to do
I’m headed home

I’m just trying to find – my way back to the five
Got a lot on my mind – gonna figure it out ♫

It’s halftime. I’ll be back on Sunday and Monday with two more blog posts for this weekend. Enjoy your Saturday. Share the Good News with all who will listen.

# 1 One Year Ago This Week:
“No One Like Our God” – Lincoln Brewster

This blog is growing, and new people are checking it out every day. So you may ask why I post a Top 10 music chart every week (on Monday nights).

This is a continuation of a hobby that started way back in the 1970s when I was a kid. I used to listen to Casey Kasem count down the hits from coast to coast every Sunday morning. He was my idol back then, and I decided that’s what I wanted to do when I grow up. That didn’t quite work out. The United States Air Force decided to use my mathematical skills rather than my radio deejay skills.

Nevertheless I created my own pop music chart towards the end of 1985, and I kept it going for almost 7 years. I brought it back to life (online) in 1995, and I kept it going for over 14 years. In 2006 it flipped from a secular chart to a Christian chart coinciding with the start of my salvation in Christ. After a 7-year hiatus I brought it back to life again in 2017 to reflect the start of a new chapter of my fantastic journey – a rejuvenation of my ministry.

God used loud music to rescue and save me nearly 13 years ago. I want you to have the opportunity to be rescued and saved by my God. That’s why this music chart, this blog, and this web site exists. I’m here to share God’s Good News through His music. I hope that you’ll stick around and stay tuned. I want to tell you about the God that I know. He’s a miracle worker. I’m one of His miracles.

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again next weekend – 4 new entries on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest.

My Top 5 Hits RETRO – 1989

Every Friday night I post the Top 5 of one of my classic hit music charts based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from either 10, 20, or 30 years ago (rotating each week). Here it is – for the week ending Sunday March 26TH 1989:

  1. “I Beg Your Pardon” – Kon Kan
  2. “Soldier Of Love” – Donny Osmond
  3. “My Prerogative” – Bobby Brown
  4. “Like A Prayer” – Madonna
  5. “Wild Thing” – Tone Loc

I remember when my local Top 40 radio station – Y-100 (Miami) – first started playing “Soldier Of Love”. They withheld the artist of the song so that we could hear it, like it, and request it without prejudice. It worked, and it became a hit before we discovered that it was child star Donny Osmond singing it. Once that was revealed the hit became a # 2 smash from coast to coast. It began a short comeback for Donny, as it was his biggest hit in 18 years since he was 13.

Nationwide Casey Kasem counted down the hits on “Casey’s Top 40”, and Shadoe Stevens did the same on “American Top 40” on this Easter Weekend in 1989. The results were the same. Mike And The Mechanics scored the new # 1 smash from coast to coast with “The Living Years”. It replaced Debbie Gibson’s “Lost In Your Eyes”.

It’s halftime my friends. I’ll be back on Sunday and Monday with two more blog posts for this weekend. Enjoy your Saturday. Make memories that will last a lifetime !
