It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back nearly 45 years. Here’s this week’s chart – for the week ending Sunday July 02ND 2023 – the 333RD week of this current era that began on Presidents’ Day Weekend of 2017:

CHRIS TOMLIN – He captures my 512TH # 1 smash since 1985, 88TH # 1 smash over the past 333 weeks, and 6TH # 1 smash of 2023. His “Holy Forever” ascends to the pinnacle in just its 2ND week on my chart. That’s the fastest climb to # 1 since Cade Thompson did so in December 2020 with “Every Step Of The Way”. It’s Chris Tomlin’s 3RD # 1 smash after “Home” (2017) and “Nobody Loves Me Like You” (2019).

CHARTBUSTING – Sitting just outside of my Top 10 this week is the new song from MercyMe. They are my # 2 artist over the past 333 weeks – with 116 weeks on my chart – 27 of them at # 1. “To Not Worship You” should enter my chart next weekend.

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again with the new weekend – and 3 new entries – known as #TravelThursday, #SundayScripture, and #MusicMonday.

Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday July 02ND 2023, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

Last week here on #SundayScripture I concluded my 9-part series of the transcription of my sermon on “Paul & Titus” that I preached to my church family on March 05TH 2023. I’ve recently added links to each part of that sermon over on my SERMONS page. And while I was updating over there I also added links to my 5-part series of the transcription of my sermon on “Stays & Stands” – based on the Matthew West song – “The God Who Stays”.

I’m currently writing my 55TH sermon on “Jude & Judgment” (based on the book of Jude, and I’m currently developing my 56TH sermon on “Sebring & Weigle” (which I introduced here last week).

Now that I’m settling in to a routine here in my new forever home – I’m returning to Bible studying, praying, dreaming, and sermon writing from Friday evenings through Saturday evenings. It was a very hectic first-half of 2023, and that cut in to my quiet time with God. It’s time to get back to that in preparation of Him making more of my dreams come true. (He’s got an excellent track record with that.)

Until I get there – focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them. (1 Timothy 4:13 NLT)

Until He returns – we servants of Christ Jesus must continue to read His Word to the church – the living and breathing body of believers and followers of our living God. He has chosen me as a teacher of His Good News, and He has directed me to encourage and inspire my brothers and sisters to get closer to God and to be more like Him. That’s what I hope to do with each new day that He has made.

If you wish to learn more about the God I know then stay tuned to #SundayScripture. The best is yet to come !

Thank you for reading my blog for this day, and may:

The LORD bless you, and keep you.
The LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. AMEN.

Miles & Meters

Welcome back to #TravelThursday.  This past Sunday afternoon I surpassed 22,000 miles on my 2020 car. It took me 34½ months to get there. I reached the milestone in the southern part of my home county – Highlands County Florida.

The topography of Highlands County is quite interesting, and it explains its name.

My neighborhood – for example – is on a gentle slope, and it’s most noticeable after a thunderstorm when the water quickly runs and drains downhill from west to east along the culverts and into the lake. It starts at 43 meters (141 feet), and it runs down to 40 meters (131 feet). The large neighborhood to our west on the other side of U.S. 27 is as high as 52 meters (171 feet). In our northwestern part of Highlands County – the Lake Wales Ridge runs along the west side of U.S. 27. (Think of the Lake Wales Ridge as Florida’s little mountain chain along its spine.)

The highest elevations in Highlands County are in the southwestern part – south of Lake Placid closer to Venus – where the land peaks at 62 meters (203 feet). That’s where U.S. 27 rides along the top of the ridge. The land starts rising from 22 meters (72 feet) just as soon as you enter Highlands County from the south.

So – I got sidetracked there with the fascinating topography of my new home county, but isn’t that what blogging should be all about ? You write what comes to you in the moment – not knowing where your thinking mind and your typing fingers will lead you.

Well – (circling back) – I surpassed 22,000 miles on my car 32 days after I surpassed 21,000 miles on my car, and that was 18 days after I surpassed 20,000 miles on my car. So it was a slower 1,000 miles this time around. I’m settling-in to my new home here in the Heartland and the Highlands of Florida. The view is wonderful from up here on the Ridge !

Next #TravelThursday – I gotta cut loose – footloose – kick-off my Sunday shoes. Let’s keep traveling together.
