It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back over 45 years. 1985 – And # 1 this week in 1985 was “We Built This City” from Starship. It was my very first # 1 smash on my brand-new chart at the time. My weekly hobby of counting down the hits with Casey Kasem went International in November 1985 when I moved to Gloucestershire England courtesy of the USAF. I put pen and pencil to paper, and I wrote down my favorite songs of the week. I continued to do so every week for the next 7 years. After a 3-year hiatus (1992-1995) – I resumed my weekly hit music chart on the brand-new World Wide Web for another 14½ years. After a 7-year hiatus (2010-2017) – I resurrected my weekly hit music chart in its current incarnation – now in its 407TH week. And the #CountUp continues.
TOP 24 OF 2024 – 4 more weekly charts remain in 2024, and then I’ll have all of the data that I need to compile my Top 24 hits of 2024. I’ll publish it here on Tuesday December 31ST 2024.
