Bedtime Stories

It’s great to be back home in Homestead. I’ve been home for a little over 24 hours now, and I’ve used this (Satur)day to relax and return to a more normal routine.

I’m looking forward to a lot of ‘normal routine’ things during this upcoming week. I’m looking forward to serving at Life Pointe Church for 3 hours starting at 7:25 AM tomorrow (Sunday) morning. I’m looking forward to attending the 10:30 AM service right after that. I’m looking forward to blogging the ‘Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad’ on here tomorrow afternoon. I’m looking forward to returning to work at 6 AM on Monday morning. I’m looking forward to the weekly staff meeting at the Life Pointe Church office suite right after work at 4 PM on Monday afternoon. I’m looking forward to a visit from the Orkin dude on Tuesday afternoon because he keeps my home bug-free. I’m looking forward to hangin’ out with my Life Group at 7 PM on Wednesday night.

I’m looking forward to all of these things and everything else in-between that makes this Life the best Life that I could ever imagine. All of these great things are possible because of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He has made this Life especially for me. I am forever greatful of Him and what He did for me, and what He is doing for me. There is no-one and no-thing that is greater than Him !

This morning I didn’t get out of bed until (a SHOCKING) 9 AM !  I’ve already set my alarm clock for 6:30 AM tomorrow (Sunday) morning. Despite the late ‘getting up’ time this morning I’m gonna try to get back to bed at a reasonable time tonight (such as 10 PM). It felt so great to be back in my own bed last night. In fact it felt so great that I was in it for nearly 12 hours (from 9 PM to 9 AM) !

May each and every one of you have a safe and peaceful Saturday night, and until we hang out again here on the blog or LIVE and in-person – remember this (and turn up the volume LOUD !):

Saturday Morning Shenanigans

Here now is a final ‘quick-hit’ wrap-up of my 7-DAY / 6-NIGHT Texas vacation:

1.  I spent 4-DAYS and 3 NIGHTS on the River Walk en San Antonio.

2.  It was my 4TH trip to San Antonio, but the 1ST that wasn’t military-related.

3.  I adore the River Walk. If I had to live in Texas then that is where I would live.

4.  Every day would be a ‘Major’s Walk-A-Thon’.

5.  How did I get my 5TH cold in 8 months ?  I touched things !

6.  The 5-HOUR drive to and from San Antonio with my brother was a lot of fun.

7.  My brother and his wife live in a ritzy suburb of DallasAllen.

8.  They live in a peaceful and quiet suburban yuppie neighbourhood.

9.  Allen is surrounded by McKinney, Fairview, Lucas, Parker, Plano, and Frisco.

10.  I’ll be back in Allen in exactly 20 weeks for Thanksgiving !

Friday Night Blogroll Review

It’s a little early on this 4TH Of July, but better early than late !

Travis keeps discovering new music gadgets online such as ‘Pandora’ and ‘Tiny Song’. This is no longer ‘Travis 2.0’. This is ‘Travis 2.11’ and ‘Travis 2.12’.

LL Phil J pretty much referred to me as a chick in his ‘Thought Foo Yung’ just because I prefer the $4 Caramel Macchiato over the $2 Pike Place Roast – or as the snooty yuppies refer to it – the tall, grande, or venti ‘drip’. Have you had your ‘drip’ today Phil ?

The Johnson Family of Southeast Homestead (all of them) are gettin’ eaten alive by ‘skeeters’.

Jesse’s blog is setting new viewership records.

Ritz and Jesse got into a ‘man-fight’ online.

Bill has a few tips for you on how to effectively handle telemarketers.

Gricelda recently spent some quality time with family and friends at Robert Is Here (just west of Florida City), and the proof is in all of the loving pictures that were taken of that day. Check out her 6-PART blog entry of it all.

Nathan is looking for a monkey to ride a tricycle in Weston’s 4TH Of July parade.

Thursday Night Internet Hoax Hall-Of-Shame

Subject: Fw: Hip Hip Hooray for the Fly Boys

Randolph AFB is near San Antonio, Texas, and is the headquarters of AETC, Air Education and Training Command. The building shown is Bldg. 100, best known as the “Taj Mahal”, and originally served as the administration building for Randolph Field, Texas. Today, the building serves as the 12th Flying Training Wing headquarters on Randolph Air Force Base. The base was recently named a national historic landmark on the National Register of Historical Places by Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton. The formation was flown on Veterans Day, November 11th, 2002. The aircraft in the formation are the T-38 Talon, the supersonic trainer flown by USAF student pilots.
