Every Friday night I post the Top 5 of one of my classic hit music charts based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from either 10, 20, or 30 years ago (rotating each week). Here it is – for the week ending Sunday January 03RD 1999:
- “One Week” – Barenaked Ladies
- “Thank U” – Alanis Morissette
- “Baby One More Time” – Britney Spears
- “This Kiss” – Faith Hill
- “From This Moment On” – Shania Twain
4 out of 5 of those hits were featured 3 weeks ago when I last went #Retro to 20 years ago. Faith Hill has the lone new entry with her long-running country-pop crossover global smash “This Kiss”. It was in its 24TH week on my chart 20 years ago this weekend. It spent 5 weeks in my Top 5 and 20 weeks in my Top 10. It still sounds great today !
