MICAH TYLER – I get the feeling that this Summer Of 2025 will be remembered for its revolving door high atop my chart. This week one of my favorite artists (# 3 since 2017) – Micah Tyler – scores his 4TH # 1 smash with his 9TH hit. His previous chart-toppers were “Different” (2017), “Even Then” (2018), and “Praise The Lord” (2023). “God Did It” becomes my 5TH # 1 smash over these past 9 weeks of summer.

NEXT WEEK’S EDITION – It will be published one day later than normal – on Tuesday July 29TH 2025 at 0300 U.S. East Coast Time. We’ll see if Micah holds on for another week at the top, or if the door keeps revolving. Also – I’ll be starting a new feature on “one-hit wonders” – starting with the earliest artists on my chart from 2017.

SPOTIFY – You can hear “My Top 10 Hits” anytime by accessing my CountUp playlist on Spotify. All 10 hits are there from top to bottom. You can hear them in order from # 1 to # 10, or you can shuffle them. My playlist will be updated every weekend (usually before the actual chart is presented here on Mondays). Your likes, follows, and comments are always appreciated. Thank You for being part of my online ministry to share God’s Good News and win souls for Christ through His music. God used loud music on the radio in South Florida to reach me in August of 2006. I’ve been testifying about Him ever since.

Be blessed my friends !  May our God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday July 20TH 2025, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

I’m getting close to the end of writing my 67TH sermon (and 4TH in a series) from First Timothy titled “Elders & Deacons”. I think it took me longer to write this one than it did the previous 3. I definitely need to pray on it further to come up with a worthy conclusion. I’m also looking ahead to 1 Timothy 4 which will be the subject of my next sermon after that.

A couple of weeks ago here on #SundayScripture I began transcribing my original sermon that I preached to my church family in Homestead Florida on Sunday October 16TH 2022. The title of the sermon is “Blessings & Benedictions”, and it’s my 50TH sermon as identified on my SERMONS page.

Here’s Part 3:

The start of Romans Chapter 12 explains this further:

And so – dear brothers and sisters – I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice – the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you – which is good and pleasing and perfect.

You know I look at Paul’s letter to the Romans as the Owner’s Manual of being a Christian. It’ll teach you everything that you need to know to follow our God for the rest of your time here in this world. Romans is 16 chapters, 433 verses, and a little over 7,100 words. Sounds like a lot, but you can read it from start to finish in about a half-hour. It would make for a very worthwhile half-hour.

And so – back to that Benediction:

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart – be acceptable in thy sight – O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

A lot of preachers pray that right before they preach their sermon. It’s a prayer for the Pastor at the pulpit. But it’s also a prayer to take out there – into the world. It makes for a great Benediction.

7½ years ago I arrived here, and I joined this church family. Eventually I was given the opportunity to lead Communion, and minister, and preach full sermons. In my studies and preparations – I realized that there were many verses of Scripture that can be used as Benedictions at the end of the service. And to this day I’m still finding these gems of God’s Good News – blessings that can be taken out there – blessings for you to help change the world – one person at a time.

(To be continued next week.)

My testimony is featured each week here on #SundayScripture – whether it’s part of a sermon, a testimony, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord – and get closer to Him with each new day.

If you wish to learn more about the God I know – then stay tuned to #SundayScripture. The best is yet to come !

Thank you for reading my blog for this day, and may:

The LORD bless you, and keep you.
The LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. AMEN.

Venice + Nokomis Florida

Welcome back to #TravelThursday. Last week I wrote about my morning drive from Sebring to downtown Arcadia, and then from there down to the end of U.S. 17 in Punta Gorda to visit the Military Heritage Museum. And the trek continues on that Tuesday in June.

I headed north via Tamiami Trail (U.S. 41) out of Punta Gorda, across Charlotte Harbor, through Port Charlotte, out of Charlotte County, and into Sarasota County.

My next stop was the Venice Museum, and it was a second-time visit. My first visit was 6 years earlier in May 2019. This time I actually talked museum business with the friendly docent at the front desk. I revealed myself as a fellow museum volunteer, Social Media Director, and on the Board Of Directors. We had a good discussion about things that are working, and things that are not working. They have a modern museum there with lots of fun bells and whistles. Like my museum – they are open 3 days a week – Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays – from 10 AM to 4 PM. During the busier Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons they are also open on the 1ST and 3RD Saturdays of the month from 11 AM to 3 PM. They are owned and operated by the city of Venice Florida.

My next stop was my hotel for the next 2 nights in Laurel Florida – an unincorporated census-designated place (UCDP) adjacent to Nokomis – another such UCDP. My hotel and the hotel across the street both had Nokomis street addresses and Nokomis in their name, so for the purposes of this blog – I spent 2 nights near Nokomis. (Both Laurel and Nokomis have rich histories that date back to settlers in the late-19TH Century.)

For dinner I headed a couple of miles south back into Venice to Darrell’s Restaurant – which I also ate at 6 years earlier in May 2019. The place was busy and getting busier. The service was good. The food was great. I ordered a sweet tea with the “Pulled Piggy” – a half-pound of hand-pulled pork with two sides of my choice. I chose mashed potatoes and gravy and collard greens. Cornbread completed the meal. And it was a hearty meal, but not too big that I couldn’t handle; although, it took some time to enjoy it all. Any future trip to Venice will include another visit to Darrell’s.

After dinner I headed west to the beach – where I spent a lot of time when I vacationed across the street from the beach 6 years earlier. I thought to myself while walking on the beach that it was perhaps my favorite beach in the world. (It used to Fort Myers Beach.)

Sunset was at 8:28 PM that night (the latest of the year), but there was little to no chance that a visible sunset would actually appear on the horizon due to leftover thunderstorm clouds in the sky. I spent 35 minutes on the beach, and then I headed back to my hotel near Nokomis. After all – “America’s Got Talent” would start at 8 PM.

Next #TravelThursday I’ll write about Casey Key, Siesta Key, and Sarasota – including my fascinating ride on the trolley. Let’s keep traveling together.
