Bedtime Stories

Greetings my friends, and welcome aboard to the Friday night edition of ‘Bedtime Stories’.

Here’s a few ‘quick hits’ for you:

+ Friday May 09TH has become the ‘best day ever’ here on this blog, as we’ve shattered every record in the book for a single day in our history. We shattered the previous Friday record for unique hits by well over 40%, and we beat the previous ‘best day ever’ record by over 10% !

+ This comes hot on the heels following the best Thursday ever !

+ Yesterday’s edition of the ‘Thursday Night Internet Hoax Hall-Of-Shame’ has totally blown up on the Internet. It is expected to become the most-read blog entry ever in our history in just a few more days !

+ It’s Day 4 of my 4TH cold over the past 6 months, and I am now on the road to recovery. I can actually breathe out of both of my nostrils. My voice is still weak, but I expect it to come around to normal by Sunday morning.

+ I worked a long day today – over 9 hours without a lunch break. When I got off of work at 3 PM all I wanted to do was to eat food, so I hopped on Florida’s Turnpike and headed southbound because all of the food is in Florida City. I found it at the Cracker Barrel. While I was waiting for my food I passed the time away by texting a message to LL Phil J‘s cell phone. It was an ‘UnTwitter’ message. 😉

+ I watched 3 excellent episodes of “Survivor Micronesia” back-to-back-to-back this afternoon, and now I only have one more remaining (last night’s episode) before I am all caught up. I’ll be able to watch the three-hour season finale extravaganza LIVE this Sunday night starting at 8 PM on CBS-TVI’M SAYIN’ !

OK that’s ‘Bedtime Stories’ for you. Be sure to hang out on the blog tomorrow (Saturday) for more fun and surprises !

Have a safe, peaceful, and blessed evening with your loved ones.

Good Night Everyone !  Good Night Kelly !

Friday Night Blogroll Review

It’s Friday night, so it’s time to recap some of my favourite blog entries of this past week from some really cool people:

Travis shares his lessons learned on leadership here and here.

LL Phil J posted his ‘Fried Thoughts’ on a Thursday, and he’s also relaying Twitter messages on my behalf. (I cracked-up severely when I came home, went online, and saw that on his blog.)

See Nathan, Diego, and Blake – future Life Pointe Church leaders !

I got a mention in Luciana’s ‘Beautiful Day In Paradise’ report. You never bug me Luci. I adore hearing your’s and Lisa’s cool new ideas on how to make Life Pointe Church even better than it already is.

Pastor Nathan of InDependence Church in Weston Florida is on board with ‘One Prayer’. Are you ?

Harmony is ready to go on vacation with Nathan and Owen in about 5 weeks. I suggested The Florida Keys. It’s paradise, and it’s not too far away.

Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thoughts

It’s the most spontaneous blog entry of the week – totally unrehearsed:

1.  I have nothing personal against bugs. I just don’t want them on me or in my home. Bugs can be very useful to humans. The’re not useful when the’re on my skin or in my bathtub.

2.  I picked up a business card of one of my favourite Homestead Chinese Restaurants at Lunch today. They did a very nice job with them. I especially adore the phrase ‘we open late’ on the card. It’s not that they actually open late (in the day), but that the’re open late (at night).

3.  Incidentally I have a new business card nowadays to replace my previous one. If you want one then feel free to ask me for one the next time that you see me.

4.  My next vacation is booked. I’m flying to Dallas Texas at the end of June, and then me and my brother are driving from there to San Antonio Texas where we will literally spend 3 days on the River Walk. He’ll be attending a conference there, and I’ll be relaxing. After the conference we’ll be driving back to Dallas, and I’ll be flying back home from there on the 4TH Of July.

5.  Homestead has piles and piles of dirt everywhere. Everything appears to be under construction. The largest outdoor shopping mall in the history of Homestead is currently being built – all 400,000 square feet of it. Once it’s up-and-running Homestead will look and feel just like Kendall, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

6.  It takes me about 12 minutes to drive to work at 6 AM weekday mornings. It takes me about 50% longer – 18 minutes – to drive back home at 3 PM weekday afternoons. Homestead’s highways are 50% busier at 3 PM than they are at 6 AM.

7.  Travis and Kelly keep inviting me over to their home to watch “Survivor Micronesia“. I would accept their invitation if I were caught up with this season’s episodes. Right now I’m still 4 episodes behind. (The’re on tape.) This past weekend I unintentionally watched a ‘lost’ episode of “Survivor Fiji” from last year that I still had on tape (but never saw). It was actually a really good episode too.

8.  Europeans don’t understand why we’re complaining so much about spending up to $4 on a gallon of gas. They make much less money than we do on average, and they pay more than twice as much as we do for the equivalent of a gallon of gas. Once again to recap – the ratio of the cost per gallon of gas versus our average household income – is the lowest of any country in the entire world.

9.  I have never flown in an F-16 fighter jet, and I have no desire to do so. I get motion-sickness extremely easily.

10.  I used to own and operate a pop music web site that – in its heyday – was MASSIVE down under in Australia and New Zealand. Do I still have any fans remaining from there ?  If so then let me know. Identify yourselves !

Bedtime Stories

Since the Saturday after Thanksgiving 2007 not a single day has gone by here on this blog without at least one posted entry. That’s 163 days in a row, so why stop now ?  The continuous blogging streak continues.

This is Day 164, and this is the Monday night edition of ‘Bedtime Stories’. I do it for all of my thousands hundreds of fans worldwide.

TODAY was one of those rare days where it was rather slow at work, and extremely hectic here at home. We had wide area network (WAN) technical difficulties throughout the day today, so there were long periods of time in which our computers were essentially useless with no internet, no web, and no E-Mail. I like to refer to that period of time in which computers had no internet, no web, and no E-Mail – as 1993 !  😉

I pretty much came home from work this afternoon to use a computer that actually works – that is – connected to the rest of the world.

Monday is always a busy day here at home on my computer. Nowadays it’s even busier as I do a lot of post-Sunday follow-up work for my church. As usual I’m not even close to being done with it all, so the fun shall continue tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon. I adore serving God’s people at Life Pointe Church. My Life is purpose-driven. I am alive.

Also TOMORROW – Be sure to check out the most spontaneous weekly series here on this blog, as it’s another thought-provoking edition of the ‘Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thoughts’. You just never know what 10 items of interest could be on my mind on any given Tuesday night.

Have a safe, peaceful, and relaxing Monday night everyone, and until we chill-out again here on the blog remember this:
