Friday Night Blogroll Review

Last weekend Travis delivered his ‘Sunday Wrap-Up’ from a new movie theatre church en San Antonio Texas.

Phil admits that he enjoys eating sardines, vienna sausages, potted meat, and spam – all in a can.

Ritz continues to remind his loyal blogging audience that his 18TH birthday is next week.

Rebecca is getting ready to move up north for college – all the way north to Tallahassee.

Luciana had a fun Sunday with her kids at church and at home.

Pastor Nathan is getting ready to celebrate 6 7 months since the official launch of InDependence Church in Weston Florida.

It was a slower than normal week of blogging all-around, but as vacations end, schools begin, and we return to a more normal daily routine the blogging shall once again pick back up again. Have a great weekend everyone !

Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad

1.  It was another glorious Sunday morning at the movie theatre in Homestead that we convert into a corporate place of worship for about 4 hours every week. If you’re looking for a modern place of worship and you’re within 30 minutes or so of Homestead then you should check us out. We do two services every Sunday morning, and they start promptly at 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM. Next month we’ll be expanding to a three-service schedule with start times of 8:30 AM, 9:45 AM, and 11:00 AM. Whether you’re an early-bird or a late-riser there’s a service at a start time that’s convenient to you, so feel to free check us out. Get rid of any traditional perceptions that you may have of ‘church’ because we do it so much differently than you probably ever thought. For more information on how we do church feel free to check out our official web site at moviechurch.info.

2.  Pastor Paul kicked-off a short two-week message series this week entitled ‘Consumed’. This morning’s teaching was all about Worship. I am a worshiper. You are a worshiper. We are all worshipers, but what exactly are we worshiping ?  God desires one thing from us – our worship of Him. Since we will become just like what we worship it is imperative that if we are truly Christians – absolute followers of Jesus – then we must worship God – so that we will become just like Him. We worship God for who He is. We know who He is because of what He has done. Sunday mornings should be a time of reflection – a time of celebration for the worship that we have done for Him during the rest of the week. Sunday mornings should never be an exception to the rest of the week. God sees and hears what is truly in our heart. Even if we can’t say it. Even if we can’t write it. He knows it because he feels it within our heart and our soul. He is our audience. He is always there for us.

3.  Following the two services I did some paperwork over at the LPC offices with Paul, Jesse, Alex, Anne J., and Gene Gene The Dancin’ Machine (who is on the threshold of starting up his very own WordPress blog). Afterwards I enjoyed a MASSIVE Lunch with Paul, Ms. Annie, and the rest of the Hollifield crew. We all gathered over at El Nachito – East Naranja’s favourite neighbourhood Mexican restaurant. I stuffed myself silly, and I enjoyed every last second of it. I just took my Lipitor, so I should be good to go until tomorrow’s MASSIVE meal of the day !

Be sure to check out other nice Sunday Wrap-Ups from other fine Life Pointe Church bloggers such as this cool dude, and this young cat.

Friday Night Blogroll Review

Here’s what’s happenin’ at 5 of my favourite blogs:

P.J. The Cane’s ‘Thought Shells’ this past Thursday can be summed-up as follows: Lobster, Football, Chicken, Itching, and Blogging. Phil was eating his lobster and chicken while watching football, and he was itching to get to some blogging soon !

There are a lot of prejudice Christians out there who immediately write-off rock and heavy metal music as evil, demonic, and Satanic. Ritz explains why these radicals need to ‘Get With The Times’. I also weigh-in with my personal viewpoint on this issue.

Rebecca intended to make homemade burritos, but she made stir-fry instead.

Kelly shows off her pics of the River Walk en San Antonio. Deja Vu (for me).

My favourite Pastor who isn’t at Life Pointe Church – Nathan – rages against the ‘Green’ machine. I’m totally with Nathan on the environmental issue. I’m also happy to see that Nathan has not abandoned his award-winning blog !

THANK YOU my fellow bloggers for another historic week of bloggertainment !

Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thoughts

CBS has ‘60 Minutes‘, FOX has ‘American Idol‘, ABC has ‘Dancing With The Stars‘, NBC has ‘America’s Got Talent‘, and I’ve got your ‘Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thoughts. Let us pray:

1.  I wish that actors and musicians – particularly those on the far-left-wing – would act and play music rather than try to convince me that President George W. Bush is Satan, Senator John McCain is his identical evil twin, and Senator Barack Obama is God. The actors and the musicians certainly don’t represent me, and they don’t even represent a majority of this country. They are the loud and obtrusive minority.

2.  I ate Lunch today at Panda Express, and a portion of my Lunch consisted of a bowl of orange chicken. As I ate the orange chicken I was dreaming about the new Homestead Pavilion shopping and dining complex that will open up in just a couple of months. There – That should rack-up another 450 views to this blog !  😀

3.  The sparkling new Chevron gas station / convenience store / car wash is now open for business (finally !) at the northeast corner of Campbell Drive and Speedway Boulevard (NE 8TH St. & NE 43RD Ave.) in Homestead. Regular gas went on sale this morning for $3.93 per gallon.

4.  Why does every soccer-mom mini-van (SUV) in front of me always have at least two tires that are near flat ?  If they kept their tires properly inflated then their gas mileage would probably increase by at least 5 MPG. If they drove a regular car instead then they could probably double their current gas mileage.

5.  I may buy a hot new computer system this Saturday morning at either Best Buy or Circuit City, and it may just be a lightning-fast desktop computer system in lieu of a moderately-fast laptop. Either way it’s gonna be an HP Pavilion with at least 4 or 5 GB of RAM and a 500 to 750 GB hard drive.

6.  Publix Hot & Spicy Wings are neither hot nor spicy – and that’s why I like them. I wouldn’t eat them if they were indeed hot and spicy.

7.  It was great to see my ‘new-look’ Washington Redskins in action this past Sunday night. Before the game I had never heard of Colt Brennan. Now I want him to be our new starting quarterback !  Sure he’s not your conventional quarterback, but isn’t that what they said about Tom Brady and Kurt Warner ?

8.  When I saw Coach Joe Bugel by the sidelines during Sunday night’s game I nearly fell out of my chair. I thought for sure that he had retired along with Coach Joe Gibbs. Apparently he’s running the running game this season while Jim Zorn spearheads the passing game. I like that plan !

9.  I’m flying to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex for Thanksgiving Week again this year, and I’m already booked to go non-stop direct on American Airlines. It’ll be the most expensive round-trip flight for me ever !

10.  It’s almost time to vote again aqui en Miami-Dade County. I know this because today my (old-fashioned) mailbox was stuffed solid with campaign literature from various cats that are running for District 9 School Board, Group 19 Circuit Court Judge, State Committeeman, and Senator. I’m not voting for anyone in any of these positions.
