WONDER WORKING – I love a debut artist on my chart. This week it’s the duo known as All Creatures with their poppy uplifting track that proclaims that our God is the God of wonders. He’s the God of miracles. He’s the Exodus 15:11 God – glorious in holiness – awesome in splendor – performing great wonders. “Wonder Working” (stylized as “[wonder working]”) is a potential # 1 smash on my chart if it can garner enough momentum and airplay on the radio. It’s good to hear it on K-LOVE !

HOLY SPIRIT COME – Another debut artist on my chart is close to scoring a # 1 smash with his anthem “Holy Spirit Come”. I love Patrick Mayberry’s voice in it. You can hear his passion. You can tell that he truly loves Jesus. What a great and powerful song. And what a cool music video to boot:

My Top 5 Hits RETRO – 1987

Every Friday I post the Top 5 of one of my classic hit music charts based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from either 15, 25, 30, or 35 years ago this weekend (rotating each week).

It’s the 4TH Friday of the month, so I go back 35 years ago. Here it is – for the week ending Sunday March 29TH 1987:

  1. “Let It Be” – Ferry Aid
  2. “Lean On Me” – Club Nouveau
  3. “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)” – The Beastie Boys
  4. “I Get The Sweetest Feeling” – Jackie Wilson
  5. “Respectable” – Mel And Kim

During the early evening hours of Friday March 06TH 1987 the MS Herald Of Free Enterprise car and passenger ferry – on its way to Dover England – capsized off the coast of Zeebrugge Belgium in the North Sea. 193 passengers and crew perished in shallow frigid water. There were 346 survivors.

A little over a week later a large ensemble of mostly British musicians got together to record a special version of The Beatles’ classic “Let It Be”. It was released as a single a week after that, and it went straight-in at # 1 on the British pop chart. All proceeds of the single went to a charity that supported the victims of the disaster and their families.

Next #RetroFriday I’ll go back 15 years ago to April 2007. It’s when my favorite pop-punk band scored a # 1 smash with a fast-paced song that can wait another week.

JORDAN ST. CYR – Jordan’s “Weary Traveler” spends its 19TH week on my chart this week (including 10 weeks at # 1), and it actually climbs back up a notch to # 4. As a strong follow-up to last year’s overall # 1 smash – “Fires” – it now appears that “Weary Traveler” will be one of the top songs of 2022. It’s now the # 14 hit overall over the past 266 weeks.

TAUREN WELLS – Tauren is back with his 9TH hit on my chart over the past 5 years. That ties him with TobyMac for most hits on my chart since its resurrection 266 weeks ago. It’s a funky track that should get you up to dance. #DontHaveToFakeIt

My Top 5 Hits RETRO – 1992

Every Friday I post the Top 5 of one of my classic hit music charts based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from either 15, 25, 30, or 35 years ago this weekend (rotating each week).

It’s the 3RD Friday of the month, so I go back 30 years ago. Here it is – for the week ending Sunday March 22ND 1992:

  1. “Justified & Ancient (Stand By The JAMs)” – The KLF Ft. Tammy Wynette
  2. “I’m Too Sexy” – Right Said Fred
  3. “Black Or White” – Michael Jackson
  4. “Good For Me” – Amy Grant
  5. “I’ll Get By” – Eddie Money

Released late in 1991 – “Justified & Ancient (Stand By The JAMs)” was a worldwide pop and dance smash featuring the lead vocals of Country Music Legend Tammy Wynette (recorded and produced in Nashville). And The KLF went out on top. It was their final single ever.

That right there is one of the greatest dance songs ever made. Period.

Next #RetroFriday I’ll go back 35 years ago to March 1987. It’s the week that a charity song hit # 1 on my chart. It was inspired by a horrific disaster on the North Sea.
