Sunday Scripture

I have returned home to South Florida after 5 days in North Texas and in the air between the two distinct regions. I enjoyed my time with my family out west, and I’ll start posting photos of my trip on Flickr (which will also cross-post here on the web site edition of this blog).

Due to maintenance problems my early-morning flight from Miami to Dallas left nearly an hour late – and that was enough to miss my connecting flight to Wichita Falls Texas. That gave me a 5-hour layover at #DFW instead of the expected 1-hour layover. That was plenty of time to enjoy an early-Lunch and read a book that I’ve been blessed with – “How To Worship A King” by Zach Neese.

Due to weather problems (fog) my mid-morning flight from Wichita Falls to Dallas left 3 hours late – completely wiping-out my expected 3-hour layover at #DFW. I walked briskly (and used Skylink) from Terminal B to C. As I was approaching the gate for my connecting flight to Miami they were already calling for all passengers in all groups to board. I barely made my connecting flight with minutes to spare.

I’ll be flying again in 41 days, and hopefully it will go much more smoothly and expected than otherwise.

Wherever you go and whatever you do – you will be blessed. (Deuteronomy 28:6 NLT)

My 29 States

map

These are the 29 states that I’ve visited during my lifetime of 51 years. I’ve done pretty good from Texas to New York !

Arkansas was my 29TH state in September of 2016 when I drove north from Louisiana along I-49 into Texarkana (and then into Texas).

There’s a small possibility that I may have visited a 30TH state – New Jersey – either as a little kid (as part of a school field trip to Philadelphia), or upon returning home from Desert Storm in March of 1991. (I just can’t remember.)

North and west of Texas is mostly uncharted territory for me – aside from Arizona (Hoover Dam and the northern rim of the Grand Canyon), Nevada (Las Vegas 3 times from 2002 to 2005), and Hawaii (March of 2006 as part of a cruise).

Before my time is done here on Earth I’d like to claim all 50 states. I think the state that I’d like to visit more than any other right now is Maine. I actually have two friends who live in Maine who once lived here in Homestead Florida !

Bear With Me

Happy Thursday night. A new weekend has arrived, and I’m looking forward to it. Tomorrow (Friday) night I’ll go #Retro with my Top 5 hits from exactly 20 years ago on Sunday July 12TH 1998. Then on Sunday I’ll share Scripture with you, and finally on Monday it’s my brand new Top 10 personal hit music chart.

But as for tonight it’s something simple – just a goofy photo of me and a bear – from inside a souvenir store on Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls Ontario Canada.

Sunday Scripture

IMG_3152

Greetings Church Family. I have returned home from vacation at beautiful Niagara Falls Ontario Canada. It was a first-time visit for me, and it was only my second-time ever to Canada. (I visited Windsor for a few hours about 13 years ago.)

The Falls were spectacular to see, hear, feel, and experience up-close. The rides and walks through the endless mist were refreshing in the Canadian heatwave (mid-to-upper 90s Fahrenheit / mid-30s Celsius).

“O Sovereign LORD !  You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you !  (Jeremiah 32:17 NLT)

Me, my brother, and his wife stayed within walking distance of Clifton Hill – the shopping and entertainment tourist district of Niagara Falls. It was a lot of fun for a couple of days, but it’s always great to return back home again – where I belong.

Tomorrow night at a local church revival I’m preaching a sermon titled “Accepted & Anointed”. That’s what we all are on this fantastic journey towards God’s bright light. If we believe that fully – then we can change the world with our works – using our strong hands and our powerful arms.
